BJP demands ouster of Pawar

Patna, January 24: Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad today demanded the immediate dismissal of Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar for “failing” to check rising prices of essential commodities.

“Pawar should be termed as a minister of price rise. He took decisions not in favour of farmers but for middlemen.

Whenever Pawar opens his mouth, prices of essential commodities shoot up,” Prasad said, taking a dig at the NCP chief.

Stating that the current situation was due to the “mismanagement of food economy,” Prasad charged that the price of sugar rose despite the Centre distributing over 11 lakh tonnes during the Maharashtra assembly polls.
