BJP demands funds for different corporations

The BJP has demanded the State government to allot Rs. 10 crore to 50 crores to each to the Corporations of Chenetha, Geetha, Rajaka, Matsya, Nayee Brahmana, Kummari, Vaddera, Vishwa Brahmana, Meru, Mahendra castes.

State Handicrafts Professions Co-ordination Committee Chairman and former MLA Vannala Sriramulu had addressed a letter to the BC Welfare Minister Baswaraj Saraiah in this regard on Saturday.

Sriramulu demanded the Minister to revive the ‘Credit Card’ scheme, which was launched by the then Prime Minister AB Vajpai, allotting Rs.12,000 crores (10,000 Crores by the Centre and 2,000 crores by the State) and give Rs. 25,000 to Rs.2 lakh loan to the handicraft professionals.

He demanded the State government to allot 50 percent of budget allotted to the welfare schemes to the Handicrafts professionals. He said that the government has to provide Rs.2 lakh insurance scheme to the Handicraft workers in case of their death. The government has to provide Rs.1 lakh insurance to those who were not in a position to work.

Sriramulu demanded the State government to constitute a State level Handicraft Workers Committee to develop the handicrafts and to provide required machines to the educated people in these communities. (NSS)
