The State Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded that the Congress government conduct fresh census of Backward Classes without separate reservation for Muslim minorities in order to finalise BC reservations for the ensuing municipal elections in the State.
A delegation of BJP leaders, led by party president G Kishan Reddy, today called on Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in the Secretariat and apprised him of the State High Court striking of religion-based reservation for Muslim Minorities. They also made it clear to the Chief Minister that there was no chance of the government creating reservation for Muslims on the basis of religion in the OBC quota. (NSS)
