BJP cries war against Muslim quota

Alleging that the TRS was indulging in vote bank politics, BJLP leader G Kishan Reddy opined that the Telangana State Legislative Assembly destroyed the spirit of democracy by passing the Muslim Reservation Bill. He also made it clear that the BJP will wage movement till the state government withdraws reservations to the Muslims.

Speaking to the media here on Monday, Kishan Reddy has made it clear that the BJP will not allow the Muslim reservations to get implemented. On the other hand, the BJP state president Dr K Laxman alleged that the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao misled not only the Legislative Assembly but also people of the state in regard to Muslim Reservations Bill.

Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, Laxman has questioned the Chief Minister to tell as to why the latter failed to increase the BC reservations up to 54 percent. The Chief Minister was distorting the statement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said and alleged that the detention was more now than during separate Telangana movement. He said the BJP will stage protest deekshas in all districts on April 20. He said that the party will conduct a two-day meeting on April 24 and 25 to chalk out a plan to wage long term movement against the state government.

BJP activists tried to lay seize to the Hyderabad Collectorate on Mondayprotesting against the religious reservations. The Collectorate premises reverberated with the slogans of the BJP leaders. Earlier, the BJP leaders staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate. MLC Ramchander Rao, City Congress leaders participated in the program. Later, they tried to barge into the Collectorate but the police arrested the BJP leaders immediately. (NSS)
