BJP corporators today urged the GHMC commissioner to set up check-posts on all entry points to prevent transportation of cows for slaughter.
A delegation of BJP corporators, led by floor leader in GHMC Bangari Prakash submitted a letter to Somesh Kumar, GHMC Commissioner, and urged him to set up check-posts with the help of police to keep a watch on illegal transportation of cows into city for slaughter purpose.
Citing an example recently that a cow load truck overturned near Ramojifilm city killing one cow and injuring another, they said the incident proves that free flow of animals (cows) was going on in the city for illegal slaughtering. Such incidents would hurt sentiments of Hindus, they said. (NSS)
