BJP chief Yeddyurappa visit drought-hit Karnataka in Land Cruiser worth Rs 1 crore

Weeks after Karnataka chief minister K Siddaramaiah created a buzz for wearing a watch worth Rs. 70-lakh, now BJP state chief BS Yeddyurappa riding a Land Cruiser, which costs about Rs. 1 crore.

However, team Yeddyurappa in its official statement has said that it is not a new car and it has been arranged just for Yeddyurappa’s tour to drought-hit areas.

“Murugesh Nirani has given me this car for party work. After that, he will take back the car. I am going around the state, so a good car is required. I am going to use it and after two years, once my term is over, he will take the car back,” Yeddyurappa said.

When asked why he was using this car to travel across drought-hit Karnataka, Yeddyurappa said these two things should not be compared.

“When I go to other states, I will use their cars. I am not going to use this car there,” he said.

Congress spokesperson Brijesh Taking took to Twitter criticising the BJP state president. “This is the fully loaded Toyota Prado which the ultra-honest B.S. Yeddyurappa bought for himself in order to travel across the state as BJP President.for himself in order to travel across the state as BJP President. It’s pocket change for him- just a little over a crore. These honest politicians are really living it up!! So what if a few thousand farmers kill themselves over the extent of drought in the state,” tweeted Kalappa.
