BJP chief ministers to meet in Mumbai soon

Mumbai: The chief ministers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled states will gather for a national convention at Uttan near Bhayandar on June 5 and 6 to review and exchange the initiatives of development they have taken in their respective states.

The convention, Suraj Sankalp (resolution of good governance), will be the first of its kind for the party, claimed BJP general secretary Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Apart from six chief ministers — Narendra Modi (Gujarat), Shivraj Singh Chouhan (MP), BS Yeddyurappa (Karnataka), Raman Singh (Chhatisgarh), Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank (Uttarakhand) and Prem Dhumal (Himachal Pradesh) — Bihar deputy chief minister Sushilkumar Modi and around 60 ministers from the BJP-ruled states are expected to attend the convention, a brain child of party president Nitin Gadkari.

“Apart from ideas for good governance there will be discussions on education, employment, agriculture,child welfare, etc,” Nadda said.
