Varanasi: Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday released controversial posters mocking rivals in Varanasi.
In the poster, state Uttar Pradesh is being portrayed as ‘Draupadi’ and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Bahujan Samajwadi Party supremo Mayawati, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi have been portrayed as ‘Kauravas’ stripping ‘Draupadi’.
The face of the woman portrayed as ‘Draupadi’ has been blurred. The poster is undersigned by BJP worker Rupesh Pandey.
“My regret is that I could not get a hoarding made for this poster before Keshav ji’s visit to Varanasi today”, said Pandey while talking to TOI.
Pandey claimed that he had presented the “real picture” of UP through his poster, “Keshav means Krishna and he will free UP from the prevailing anarchy (arajakta) of SP, BSP, Congress and the likes of Owaisi”.
The satire on the opposition leaders comes at a time when the state is gearing up for assembly elections next year.
