Telangana BJP State executive would chalk out a strategy for 2019 elections during its meeting scheduled to be held on July 22 and 23 at Warangal. The party would discuss in detail a road map for strengthening the party and give utmost importance to propagate development mantra of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The State party is keen on emerging as an alternative to TRS and wrest power in 2019 elections.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, State BJP president Dr K Laxman said Union minister Hansraj Ahir and party general secretaries Ram Madhav and Muralidhar Rao would attend the meeting. It would also deliberate on the three-day visit of BJP national president Amit Shah to Telangana in September, he said. Shah had visited Telangana in May this year.
Dr Laxman said the party would launch various programs, including measures to strengthen the party from grass root level and to take up agitation against the TRS government on people’s issues. The party would also hold its district executive meetings from July 28 to 30 and mandal level meetings from August 5 to 9. The meetings at district and mandal levels would review the implementation of the action plan finalised in State executive meetings.
“As part of preparations for the 2019 elections, assembly constituency-wise conventions of booth level workers would be held in all the 119 Assembly segments during October-November”, he said. Lamenting that the TRS government was not officially celebrating Telangana Liberation Day on September 17, Laxman alleged that the ruling party was not celebrating it officially under pressure from the MIM. He said the party would organize a public meeting on September 15 to mount pressure on the government. (NSS)
