New Delhi: Criticising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly giving tickets in lieu of money to criminals and defectors of other parties, while ignoring dedicated party workers, Janata Dal (United) national spokesperson Tyagi on Sunday said the party with a difference could do anything for power.
“Tickets are being given to criminals, defectors of other parties for money, while dedicated workers are being ignored. Even the daughter-in-law of Jan Sangh founder Kailashpati Mishra has been denied a ticket, which is outrageous for the BJP,” said Tyagi, adding he strongly supports the BJP leader and former home secretary R.K. Singh and Shatrughan Sinha.
When asked about Pappu Yadav’s decision to form a secular third front for the Bihar polls, Tyagi said, “Pappu Yadav’s statement doesn’t deserve any reaction. He doesn’t deserve even our condemnation.”
On a question that the Congress has termed the CBI raids on the premises of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh as “vendetta”, he said the CBI was free to conduct raids, but the human side should not be ignored. “It’s inhuman to raid the premises of a leader when the wedding of his daughter is being solemnised,” he said, adding that he strongly condemned it.
“The saffron party has sought Virbhadra’s resignation on moral grounds and has, at the same time, demanded that Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and her Madhya Pradesh counterpart Shivraj Singh Chouhan should not resign,” he said
He sought the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the illegal mining cases in Rajasthan. (ANI)
