New Delhi, Aug.10 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manoj Tiwari on Monday called for strict action to be taken against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Alka Lamba for falsely denying that she had vandalised a sweet shop in Kashmere Gate.
Tiwari said that CCTV footage of the incident had proved her involvement beyond doubt.
“I hope they (AAP) were serious against drug addiction, but they are not. Strict action must be initiated against Alka Lamba as CCTV footage has made everything clear. This government is actually vandalising shops. Kejriwal ji can make many statements to hide his sins, but truth has come out, there was no stone pelting or an attack on Alka Lamba. They are going to a specific shop, vandalising it, because the owner doesn’t give levy them with money. It is very clear from the CCTV footage. What else evidence do the Kejriwal Government want?” Tiwari told ANI.
Earlier Lamba, in her denial, had said the video which showed her throwing things was taken after she was attacked during an anti-drug drive.
“As far as this footage is concerned, I have seen it. The shop is of BJP MLA OP Sharma and the attack took place outside his shop and the attacker was also caught from this shop,” Lamba told ANI.
“This video is after the attack took place. I had just entered the shop with one of AAP volunteers post the attack and asked that the attacker be brought out, we haven’t vandalized the shop,” she added.
The Chandni Chowk MLA, who suffered, head injuries after allegedly being pelted with stones yesterday, further alleged that she was attacked in the presence of policemen, but no action was taken by them.
The CCTV footage shows Lamba reaching straight for the shop counter and throwing away some items on the counter, after which her supporters also vandalised the shop. (ANI)
