New Delhi: The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) leaderships have decided to fight the upcoming Assam assembly polls together.
Attending a meeting in New Delhi yesterday, state BJP President and Union minister Sarbanand Sonowal said that both the parties have decided on it in a joint meeting. The Chief of Bodoland Peoples Front Hagrama Mahilary said that the NDA government has assured to give 1000 crore rupees for the development of Bodoland Territorial Council.
Mahilary also announced to support the BJP in non-Bodoland Territorial Council areas in upcoming polls.
BJP national president Amit Shah, state president and Union Minister Sarbanand Sonowal along with senior leader Ram Madhab were present in the meeting. On the other hand, BPF leaders Hagrama Mahilary, Chandan Brahma and Biswajit Daimary attended the meeting. (ANI)
