BJP bid to disrupt TTD job test

Tirupati, September 27: BJP National Executive member K Santha Reddy and 15 activists of the party were taken into custody here today when they were proceeding on KT Road to disrupt the exam conducted by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams for recruitment of staff.

A police contingent headed by DSP Gangaraju stopped Santha Reddy, who was leading a strong crowd of 100 party activists, from marching on the examination centre located on the KT Road.

A tense situation prevailed for some time when Santha Reddy entered into an argument with the police.

She and the activists, who were confined in the MR Palli police station, were let off in the evening after the two-session exam went off smoothly.

Santha Reddy and BJYM district president Ratakonda Viswanatha vowed to go on an indefinite fast to press for cancellation of today’s examination. Santha Reddy criticised TTD’s “adamancy” in conducting the exam which she said affected the interests of the local youth.
