New Delhi: Slamming Congress leader Navjot Sidhu for praising Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, the BJP on Sunday said, ‘by making such remarks, the Congress leader sought to show Pakistan and Mr Khan on a higher pedestal than India’.
Sidhu at the Kartarpur corridor inauguration across the international border had praised Imran Khan by saying, “Sikandar (Alexander) had won the world with fear and you won the heart all over the world.” NDTV reported.
While criticising Sidhu for describing Imran Khan as the king of hearts, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that Sidhu was not part of the official ‘jatha’ which went from India. “Who gave him this right,” he asked.
BJP also accused Sidhu of projecting himself as a representative of 14 crore Sikhs.
