New Delhi, October 11: BJP on Tuesday denounced statements of Congress leader Digvijay Singh against it and Sangh Parivar founthead RSS, saying his “jaundiced eye and desperation” were making him see a patriotic organisation as one involved in terror activities.
“What Digvijay Singh says the country does not pay attention to. We do not even want to say where he should be sent. This is an internal matter of the Congress. But he should not taint the RSS, which is the biggest school of patriotism in the country, as an organisation involved in terror activities,” BJP pokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.
He said the RSS had fought against Congress leaders who had imposed an Emergency on the country.
Singh had attacked the BJP while taking on civil society activist Anna Hazare.
“Anna Hazare is a respected figure. He and his team are attacking the Congress as it has become synonymous with corruption. Whether you say Congress or corruption, its all the same,” Javadekar said.
The BJP insisted that Singh should stop targeting the party and the RSS.
“In his desperation, Singh is calling RSS and BJP names…. He has a jaundiced eye. RSS has been involved in character building. To attack it is untenable. We condemn his utterances,” Javadekar said.
