BJP asks KCR to stop blaming Centre

The Bharatiya Janata Party has strongly condemned Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his criticism on the Central Government.

Addressing a press conference at the State headquarters at Nampally here on Wednesday, BJP National General P Muralidhar Rao alleged that KCR has been blaming the Centre for different reasons only to hide his failures. Stating that the BJP has played a crucial role in the formation of Telangana State, he alleged that KCR is trying to act as the sole hero of statehood movement. Asking the Chief Minister to change his attitude, he advised the Chief Minister to have friendly relationship with the BJP Government at the Centre instead of having confrontation.

Muralidhar Rao claimed that the TRS Government did not make any representation with the Centre on any issues including water and energy. He said it was wrong to blame the Centre without even making any representation. The Central Government and BJP are willing to cooperate in the development of Telangana and therefore, KCR should maintain friendly relationship with them, he said.

Speaking about BJP’s membership drive, Muralidhar Rao said that the party has been overwhelming response across the country. He dismissed the reports that BJP national president Amit Shah was unhappy with the membership drive in Telangana. Since the drive would go on till March 2015, it is too early to judge the performance of State units. He said that the BJP would focus on strengthening the organisation in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerela, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, West Bengal and Assam. (INN)
