BJP asks if Samajwadi Party is indulging in ‘goonda raj’

New Delhi, July 12: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday alleged that if the complaint lodged against Mulayam Singh Yadav by senior IPS officer Amitabh Thakur is true then it confirms that the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh is indulging in ‘goonda raj’.

BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli said this matter requires complete transparency and clarity.

“If it is true, then it is a confirmation that Samajwadi Party is indulging in open ‘goondaraj’, and now that counter FIRs are being filed, it needs to be seen in that light,” Kohli told ANI.

“If the matter is false, which a clear and unbiased investigation can reveal, then action should be taken if someone files a false complaint. Filing FIRs against each other will not bring any truth out,” he added.

A rape case has been lodged against the IPS officer in Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar police station. This took place a day after he released an audio in which the Samajwadi Party chief was purportedly threatening him.

The IPS officer’s wife has also been accused of taking part in the conspiracy.

The woman had lodged a similar case against the IPS officer on December 31, 2014. But then, the case had not been registered against him. (ANI)
