Hyderabad, November 16: The state unit of the BJP today urged governor E S L Narasimhan to dismiss chief minister K Rosaiah and some of his cabinet colleagues for deliberate violation of prohibitory orders by addressing a ‘dharna’ here recently.
A 10-member delegation led by its state unit president G Kishan Reddy met Narasimhan at the Raj Bhavan here today and submitted a memorandum against the chief minister.
BJP said the chief minister had no moral right to continue in office since he himself violated prohibitory orders,
The dharna was organised by Congress workers and leaders on Friday to protest the derogatory remarks of former RSS chief Sudarshan against party president Sonia Gandhi. In the memorandum, the party alleged that police failed to act to prevent or disrupt the staging of dharna in the prohibited area.
The chief minister being the head of the governmentfailed his constitutional responsibility by wilfully violating the regulation of his own government which constitutes a criminal offence and warrants action, the party said.
The BJP leaders wanted to know why the police did not touch the chief minister who led the dharna and why they had registered cases against a few leaders of the Congress party if they were no prohibitory orders in force,” the BJP leaders pointed out.
“The AP High Court had already given directions that any protest programmes should be organised at dharna chowk. While all political parties were abiding by the direction, the chief minister chose to break the law, ‘’ BJP senior leader and former Union minister B Dattatreya said.
The other members of the delegation included BJP national secretary Dr K Laxman, BJP state unit general secretary N Ramachandra Rao and senior leader B Balreddy.
