BJP asks Government not to hike power tariff

Hyderabad, April 23: The state unit of the BJP has demanded the State government to withdraw the proposed hike in power tariff for industrial and commercial sectors. The BJP expressed fears that the increase in power tariff might be a threat for small scale industrial units. It wanted the government to appoint a task force to monitor the power crisis and find a permanent solutions to overcome the present power shortage in the state.

The BJP leaders blamed the government’s unscientific attitude and lack of vision for the present crisis.

Addressing a press conference here today, BJP state general secretary N Ramachandr Rao and party official spokesperson NVSS Prabhakar said that nearly 30 present of the small scale units will become sick if the power tariff is increased.
