BJP alleges govt officials biased against T-parties

Hyderabad, July 27: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader on Monday met Chief Electoral Officer IV Subba Rao and complained to him that government employees in Nizamabad Urban Assembly constituency were showing undue favour towards one particular political party.

After submitting a memorandum to the CEO, Mr Vidyasagar Rao alleged that the government officials in general and the Revenue Divisional Officer in the district was acting in a biased manner against pro-Telangana parties.

Talking to media persons, Mr Vidyasagar Rao said that he had apprised the CEO about the RDO’s report over the suicide of a BJP worker B Srinivas.

Srinivas had allegedly immolated himself after being frustrated over a non-materialisation of a separate Telangana state. According to Mr Vidyasagar Rao, the RDO’s report said that the suicide was because Srinivas had been distressed by personal problems and his self immolation had nothing to do with Telangana.

The senior BJP leader said that this highlighted the fact that the RDO was biased against pro-Telangana parties. He said that the RDO’s report also disheartened the pro-Telangana activists.

Mr Vidyasagar Rao said that the CEO had given him a patient hearing and assured him that he would taken strict action against any government employee showing bias against any political party.
