BJP accuses PCC chief of threatening party cadre

Hyderabad, July 22: Bharatiya Janata Party has charged the Nizamabad (urban) Assembly constituency candidate and Pradesh Congress president D Srinivas with threatening their party cadre.

In a complaint to the chief electoral officer I V Subba Rao here today, party state general secretary N Ramachandra Rao said that supporters of Srinivas had attacked a BJP worker at Nizamabad today but the police did not take action against the culprits.

He alleged that the Congress and Telugu Desam parties have colluded to defeat the BJP nominee. Ramachandra Rao said that attempts were being made to use compact discs containing some additions and deletions of voters and demanded that the polling staff must use only official CD released by the Election Commission.

The BJP leader alleged that the Congress was abusing power at Nizamabad.

He informed that the chief electoral office have noted the points and assured that the elections would be held in a fair manner.

Meanwhile, Maa Telangana leaders alleged that the electronic and print media were giving extensive coverage to activities of Telugu Desam party president N Chandrababu Naidu and doing undue favour to his party.

They alleged that telecast of scenes like Naidu sleeping on the floor and in open space would influence the voters and requested the CEO to restrain the media.
