Former Union Minister and BJP National Executive Member CH Vidyasagar Rao on Monday alleged that the Congress party was deceiving Telengana people once again for votes of MPs of the region in view of the Presidential Election to be held on July 19.
Talking to the media persons at State party office here, Vidyasagar Rao called upon political leaders of the Telangana region to take stock of the situation and appeal them to come forward to intensify the agitation for separate State. He said that Telangana leaders should ensure that Telangana State becomes a reality by September 17, the day when Hyderabad was merged with the Indian Union in 1948. He stressed the need for unity of all political parties and leaders to realise the dream of Telangana.
Vidya Sagar Rao condemned the statement of Minor Irrigation Minister T G Venkatesh against the IAS Officers. He said that in a democratic country the performance of officials should be brought under the scanner and complaints should be lodged against them if they fail to perform their duties. He said it was not proper on the part of a minister to appeal to lynch the erring officer in public. He demanded that Venkatesh apologise for his harsh remarks against the IAS Officers.
The BJP leader also appealed to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to intervene in the matter and take appropriate action against the minister for his irresponsible remarks. (INN)
