BJP accountable for political crisis in Jharkhand: Cong

Ranchi, May 10: The Congress today said the BJP is accountable for destabilising the political situation in Jharkhand and accused the saffron party of betraying the people of the state.

“We don’t have the numbers and are not in a situation to interfere…but it is the BJP which has brought the state to a grinding halt for the last 15 days and is accountable and responsible for the state of affairs,” Congress spokesman Radhakrishna Kishore said.

Reacting to the division of opinion in the JMM over the possibility of its President Shibu Soren relinquishing the post of chief minister, Kishore said, “It is betrayal on the part of BJP which assured stability during formation of government after the November/December assembly elections.”

Meanwhile, JMM MLA Simon Marandi told newsmen here that at least six party MLAs would meet tonight on the Soren issue.
