BJP candidates lost Pharanda Assembly constituency in UP. He got 3rd place. Mr.Vinod Tiwari (SP) defeated Congress candidate, Mr. Birender Kumar Chowdary with a majority of 9200 votes. It may be noted that in the last General Elections, BJP candidates had got grand victory in UP wherein 73 out of 80 LS seats were bagged by BJP. After this election BJP lost 12 out of15 seats including one LS and 11 Assembly constituencies. In September last week, by-elections were held in 11 constituencies out of which BJP lost 8 seats. All these constituencies were won by BJP earlier.
