Bizarre: Two-Year-Old boy became victim of Acid Attack after mother rejected marriage proposal

New Delhi: A two-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped and doused in acid by his mother’s stalker because she refused to marry him. The toddler was dumped in a garbage bin. A truck driver who had heard his screams in the morning in Delhi informed the nearby people.

Aditya Raj was immediately taken to the hospital with 20 per cent burn. Doctors have warned his parents he risks of losing an eye.

Dr. Anurag Pandey the plastic surgeon of Sri Ganga Ram Hospital said, “While his life is out of danger, his eyesight continues to be in danger. His eye cornea is injured but we’re doing all we can to save his sight.”

Aditya gone missing on December 13, while he was playing outside his house. His mother Soni Prasad, 25, said that.”I haven’t seen my son yet, I can’t look at him. I can’t believe he is suffering like this. I just don’t know what to do. He is my only son. I’m just helpless.”

Soni claims that she was harassed by  Mangal, 27, who repeatedly asked her to leave her husband Jamna, a 33-year-old labourer and marry him. “I kept refusing his offer but he wouldn’t stop,” said Soni.

She added.”He was very intimidating. I feared he would do something to me when my husband was away at work.”

The couple moved to another New Delhi district, Shanti Nagar, in Gurugram, in order to escape Mangal in July 2016. “I most definitely feared Mangal had taken Aditya,” Soni said. “He wanted revenge. I felt he kidnapped him so I’d be forced to go to him.”

Jamna added, “My son was found screaming with acid burning his skin as he was lying in a dustbin. Who could do such a thing to a little boy?”

Assistant Sub-Inspector Rupesh Kumar, Khandsa Road Police Station said, “On the basis of CCTV footage, we have discovered that the boy was kidnapped. Govind has been arrested and has admitted to the crime. The investigation is still on and further action will be taken in due time.”

Local charity, Make Love Not Scars, has collected money to fund the little boy’s treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.  Dr. said that Aditya will need surgery next week.
