Bizarre! Argument over dog barking during match led to student’s death

Bengaluru: In a bizarre turn of events, a 23-year-old college student was killed and two of his friends were injured after a man allegedly attacked them with a broken glass bottle as they objected to his dog barking during the tense India-Australia World T20 cricket match in the city.

The incident happened when they objected to a dog, which was accompanied by its master, barking at a place where they had made arrangements to watch the match together on TV at SK Gardens under JC Nagar police limits last night.

The deceased, identified as Avinash, along with his friends asked John Kennedy, the owner of the dog, to go away from the spot stating that the barking was disturbing them, leading to an altercation.

Kennedy, who left the spot initially, returned and engaged in a scuffle with them, during which he allegedly stabbed Avinash with a broken glass bottle and also injured two of his friends, police said.
Avinash died on way to the hospital.

Police said they have arrested Kennedy and investigation is on.

Thanks to Virat Kohi’s brilliant unbeaten 82, India registered a sensational six wicket win over Australia and advanced to the the World T20 semi-finals.
