Biryani assault: Police arrests 7 main DMK ‘suspended’ accused on the run

Taking action in the biryani assault incident where DMK party leaders reportedly thrashed staff members at a restaurant in Chennai, the police have arrested 7 of the 10 accused who were involved in the incident.

The arrest were made after the party’s working President MK Stalin visited the restaurant and expressed his support to the owner and staff while also suspending the youths for their hostile behavior stating their behaviour was not in tune with the party’s discipline, TNM reported.

According to the police reports, the main accused DMK Youth Wing Secretary KL Yuvaraj member Diwakar and MCA student Satish have been absconding ever since the incident occurred while M Kishore (23), J ‘Kutty’ Kishore (24), M Sathish (23), N Karthik (22), M Suresh (21), V Manikandan (23), and H Ruthara Kumar (26) have been arrested.

The General Secretary K Anbazhagan also took to Twitter to condemn the members to act.

An investigating official said: “We took their photos around and enquired about them. We caught one of the accused and he led us to the others.”
“We now aim to apprehend those who are absconding before they apply for bail,” he adds.

The DMK party members shameful assault was caught on camera which later went viral where they assaulted employees of Salem RR Biriyani restaurant in Virugambakkam on Sunday when the employees refused to their demand for free food.
