Mumbai, February 12: Shopping for his 18th birthday turned disastrous for Aditya Danda, a Ghatkopar resident, who was killed in a road mishap.
He would have turned 18 today.
Danda, along with his friend Siddhant Dudhani (18), were heading to CST on the J J Flyover, when the bike Siddhant was riding skidded and hit the divider.
Since he was speeding, he could not control the bike and the two toppled over to the other side of the divider. They fell in front of a car and were run over, said the police.
Kirti Agarwal (23) was returning to her residence in Thane when the boys suddenly appeared in front of
her Santro.
“There was no time to stop and she ran into the boys. It was not her fault. So, no case has been registered against her,” said PI Ashok Patil from Pydhonie police station, who is investigating the case.
“In fact, Kirti was in a state of shock and did not try to run away,” he added.
While Aditya died on the spot, Siddhant was rushed to G T Hospital and later shifted to J J Hospital. However, doctors did not manage to save him, as he had suffered serious head injuries.
Ironically, Siddhant had got his bike license only 20 days back
