Birth certificate and death certificate are the most important certificates for citizens. But unfortunately the infamous GHMC department indulges in criminal negligence while issuing birth and death certificates.
Recently a birth certificate was issued by the GHMC in which girl’s father’s name has been mentioned in the place of mother’s name and her father’s name was mentioned in the place of her name. As per the certificate issued by the GHMC the girl’s name is Amena Fatima, her mother’s name is Iftekhar Ahmed and her father’s name is also Amena Fatima.
There was a long queue at the Sardar Mahal municipal office waiting to obtain birth and death certificates. People were trying to take precedence over one another. Cash transfer under the table was also in full swing. Brokers were also seen busy. People there told that no matter how much qualified you are but your work can’t be done without middle man.
