Mumbai, December 31: If you are a Bollywood junkie then you could ring in the New Year with Bipasha Basu, Celina Jaitley or Ameesha Patel. But sadly that’s all that’s in store this New Year’s eve with most of the usual starlets giving the December 31 night performance a miss.
Bipasha is reportedly charging Rs 13.3 lakh per minute for a 12-minute performance on New Year’s eve at Hotel Sahara Star in Mumbai – that totals to over Rs 1.5 crore for the entire act and here’s what you can expect from the hottie.
Meanwhile, news is that Celina Jaitley is charging upwards of Rs 60 lakh to shake a leg at the Country Club in Mumbai on December 31.
Ameesha Patel, who has been out of luck at the box office, will be heading to Dubai for a New Year’s eve performance along with Govinda. Though, Ameesha will also be performing at the Country Club Hotel in Dubai, there is no information on the fee she is charging.
But unlike previous years there’s a lull as far as celebrity performances are concerned. Most of the usual suspects including, Tanushree Dutta, Koena Mitra, Malaika Arora and Rakhi Sawant who usually charge between Rs 40 to 60 lakh aren’t happy with the money offered.
Most of the city hotels recovering from a bad year due to inflation and a low turnout due to the 26/11 attacks haven’t been able to offer actresses big money this year.
Katrina Kaif who performed last year at JW Marriott is reportedly busy spending time with her family in London and good friend Ranbir Kapoor is in New York. Mallika Sherawat, whose controversial performance at Marriot in a tight body suit made news in 2007, might be spending her New Year’s eve in Los Angeles.
