Mumbai, September 11: Sanjay Gupta’s Pankh has already been affirmed as the boldest film (in terms of dialogues) ever made in India. It has left behind the Bandit Queen that comprised of the dialogues that were not that gentle.
Similarly, Pankh has been betrothed in a battle with the censor board for six long months. The reason being is that director Sudipto Chatterley didn’t want to delete the parts where the bold Bengali actress Bipasha Basu says a terrible word in the film though the director had already got ‘A’ grade certification for Pankh.
A source says, “Bipasha repeated that word not once but twice in the film. Chattopadhyay was clear that those words should neither be beeped nor be deleted by the censor board as they go with the soul of the story.”
Chattopadhyay has already made a few negotiations in the film by beeping some offensive words voiced by other actors in the film; he didn’t want to mute Bipasha’s vulgar words.
