Binod Sinha’s property attached in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), December 22: The property of Binod Sinha, one of the aides of Jharkhand’s former Chief Minister Madhu Koda, was today attached by East Singhbhum district administration in Jharkhand.

“The attachment of property worth Rs 15,000 at his house was made on the orders of Income Tax department,” Superintendent of police, N K Singh, said.

A magistrate was present during the property attachment, he said.

The Income Tax department, with the assistance of Enforcement Directorate, had on October 31 carried out nationwide raids on the residences of Koda, Sinha and others and unearthed alleged hawala transactions and illegal investments amounting to more than Rs 2000 crore.

Koda is now under judicial custody in connection with a disproportionate assets case, which is being investigated by the state vigilance department.
