Nashik, September 20: Shaikh Lalbaba Mohammed Hussain alias Bilal, arrested for allegedly plotting terror attacks in Maharashtra, was today remanded in judicial custody till October 3 by a court, which rejected the police’s plea for further remand.
Bilal was produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate on expiry of his police custody today.
He was arrested by Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on September 7 from Satpur near here and sent in police custody.
ATS had claimed to have seized RDX, a few detonators and photos of Nashik’s important places like Maharashtra Police Academy, Police Commissionerate and Devlali Army camp from Bilal, who allegedly conducted recee of the key sites.
Public Prosecutor Ajay Misar sought Bilal’s police custody for 10 more days. However, CJM K D Boche rejected the plea and sent him in magisterial custody till October 3.
