Nashik, September 21: Revoking the order of a local court, a sessions court here today remanded Shaikh Lalbaba Mohammed Hussain alias Bilal, arrested for allegedly plotting terror attacks in Maharashtra, in 10 days police custody.
Chief Judicial Magistrate K D Boche yesterday had rejected police’s plea for further remand of Bilal and granted him 14-day judicial custody.
Last evening itself the ATS through public prosecutor Ajay Misar moved an application to the upper court challenging Boche’s order.
Bilal was produced before Additional and District Sessions Court Judge M S Javalkar today.
He said that he needed an advocate to plead his case.
However, when no one came forward to take up his case, the Legal Aid Department arranged for an advocate for him.
Milan Joshi, who argued on his behalf, requested the upper court to retain his judicial custody but the court rejected the plea and remanded Bilal in 10-day police custody till October 2.
