Congress said today took a dig at the Prime Minister saying Biharis are one of the “most intelligent” people in the country and will “call the bluff” of Narendra Modi in the upcoming Assembly elections.
“I am 100 per cent in agreement with the Prime Minister. Biharis are one of the most intelligent people in the country. So, they will call the bluff of packaging and repackaging by Narendra Modi,” AICC General Secretary Shakeel Ahmed told PTI.
He said that the Prime Minister may be campaigning in different parts of the poll-bound state, but his objective would not be fulfilled as people have already decided to “dump” the BJP.
Ahmed also reminded the BJP that it was also part of the government for a “very long period” in the last 25 years in which it was alleging that Bihar had witnessed “misrule”. BJP was part of the Nitish Kumar government for eight long years.
He claimed one of the reasons for people of Bihar to not vote for Modi would be a “slide in his personal graph”.
Bihar PCC Chief Ashok Chaudhary also took a dim view of the Prime Minister’s rally in Bhagalpur today claiming that it showed the “frustration and the nervousness” in BJP camp due to the formidable challenge posed by the grand “secular” alliance (of RJD, JD-U, Congress, SP and NCP).
Hitting back at the Prime Minister, he said, it was BJP which was spreading the poison of casteism and communalism for electoral gains.
Chaudhary insisted that the grand alliance would be contesting the polls under a “Common Minimum Programme” that would give a better deal to the people of the state.
Congress’ attack came after the Prime Minister’s rally at Bhagalpur in which he sought to make amends, calling Biharis the “most intelligent” people.
Modi was under fierce attack for his DNA jibe against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, which has been turned into a major electoral weapon against him.
