Bihar polls: Second phase begins amid tight security

Patna: Polling for the second phase of the five-phase Bihar Assembly elections began at 7 am amid tight security in 32 constituencies spread over six districts on Friday.

A total of 86,13,870 voters from Kaimur, Rohtas, Arwal, Jehanabad, Aurangabad and Gaya districts will decide the fate 456 candidates.

The second phase polling poses a big challenge for the security personnel as the six districts are Naxal infested.

The polling will end at 3 PM in 11 constituencies and at 4 PM at 12 others while it will end at 5 pm in the remaining nine constituencies.

The first phase of polling was held on October 12, in which 49 constituencies spread over 10 districts went to polls.

The first phase of polling was held in Samastipur, Begusarai, Khagariya, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Nawada and Jamui districts.
