Bihar polls: JU (U) workers protest after Nitish drops Izhar Ahmad

Patna: The Janata Dal (United) workers staged a protest outside the party office here on Sunday over denial of ticket to MLA Izhar Ahmad in the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls.

Izhar Ahmad of JD (U) is the sitting MLA of Gaura Bauram assembly constituency.

“They are giving the ticket to a person who voted against the party and Chief Minister in the Rajya Sabha. They could have given the ticket to anyone from Gaura Bauram if not Izhar Ahmad but we don’t want an outsider,” one of the protestors told ANI.

When asked to comment on the reason behind the party denying ticket to Ahmad this time, another protestor accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of doing injustice to the people of Gaura Bauram.

Izhar Ahmad of JD (U) is the sitting MLA of the Gaura Bauram assembly constituency. He defeated RJD’s Dr. Mahavir Prasad by a margin of 10,602 votes in the 2010 assembly elections.
