Patna, Nov.1 : A voter turnout of 42.94 percent was recorded till 1 p.m. on Sunday in the ongoing fourth phase of the Bihar Assembly elections.
Voter turnout of 45.88 percent was recorded in West Champaran District, 45.12 percent in East Champaran, 43.03 percent in Sheohar, 40.66 percent in Sitmarhi, 44.39 percent in Muzaffarpur, 42.03 percent in Gopalganj and 37.89 percent in Siwan.
A total of 776 candidates are battling for 55 seats.
Over 1.20 lakh jawans of security forces have been deployed and security forces staged a flag march in sensitive areas to instill confidence among electorates.
Polling time in 43 constituencies is 7 am to 5 pm, while in four Naxal-affected constituencies, it will conclude at 3 pm and in eight constituencies at 4 pm. (ANI)
