Katihar: Bijendra Prasad Yadav, one of the senior most leaders of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Numar’s party Janta Dal (United) refused to wear skull cap at a conference of Muslim Community in Katihar district, raking a major controversy in Bihar’s political circles on Sunday.
The state’s ruling JD(U) organized a Talimi Bedari Conference in Katihar on September 30.
Bihar’s Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav was the chief guest at the programme. When the event organizer offered him a Safa (men’s scarf) and when he offered the skull cap, the minister with a straight face stopped the organizer refusing to wear it on his head and gave it to his assistant who was standing behind him.
