New Delhi: In a yet another incident of mob lynching, a 44-year-old man was lynched in Dak Haripur village of Araria district of Bihar based on the suspicion of cattle theft. The area falls under the jurisdiction of Robertsganj police station.
The Wire with reference Shiv Sharan Sah, SHO, Robertsganj reported that a mob beat Mahesh Yadav to death alleging that he was trying to steal cattle along with two associates.
Police began investigations after registering an FIR against unidentified people. Yadav was rushed to the hospital by the police but was declared brought dead.
This was the second such incident since December 29 last year, when another mob lynching had been reported from Araria because of ‘cattle theft’ rumours. Mohammad Kabul was attacked with sticks by a mob of 300 people. A video of that incident had gone viral.
