Bihar legislative council elections not equated to ‘prestige’: Nitish Kumar

Patna : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on said his party had not equated the Bihar legislative council elections to prestige, adding that the party hardly has any role to play in these polls.

“This election does not concern the public, it concerns the representatives. The party hardly has any role to play in these polls,” said Nitish.

“We didn’t equate these polls to any prestige, it was the BJP which was equating it,” he added.

Earlier, celebrations erupted at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in New Delhi as the NDA won 14 seats in the Bihar legislative council elections while the Nitish Kumar-led alliance managed to win just nine of the 24 seats.

BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said the results reflect that the party will form the next government in Bihar. (ANI)
