New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s state vice-president Visheshwar Ojha was shot dead in Arrah city of Bihar’s Bhojpur district on Friday evening.
Ojha was returning from a wedding when some unidentified assailants fired at him and fled the scene.
Ojha’s driver and a man also got injured in the incident.
This is the second BJP leader to have been killed in the last 12 hours. This morning another local BJP leader Kedar Singh was shot dead in Chapra.
Expressing sadness over the deaths of two leaders, BJP spokesperson Shahnawaaz Husaain said that people of Bihar do not want jungle raj to return.
“BJP is saddened by the deaths of two leaders. The government here has no control on the administration. Criminals are running the government and politicians are being killed,” he said.
“We would like to tell Nitish Kumar that people have voted him for good governance. People of Bihar do not want jungle raj,” he added.
BJP leader Sushil Modi condemned the killings and said that criminals have gone out of control in the state.
“Chief Minister is only attending meetings to control Law and Order but criminals have gone out of control. Chief Minister’s will to control crime has come to an end,” he said in a press release.
Meanwhile, the two injured persons have been admitted to a local hospital.
