Mumbai: Sony TV’s quiz show on Wednesday night left the audience in splits because of host Amitabh Bachchan’s reaction to contestants’ answers on the Bollywood megastar’s daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra. Bachchan was at his wittiest best while in conversation with his contestants.
Woman contestant from Delhi
First, it was a woman contestant from Delhi, Pooja Jha, who was asked to name the film in which Shah Rukh and Aishwarya had played the roles of twins. The contestant correctly answered the film Josh, but also added that she was a big fan of Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter-in-law and loved her mesmerising eyes. This evoked quite a funny reaction from Bachchan, who complained that the contestant had not given him compliments for his eyes. He, however, promised to convey the contestant’s compliments for his bahu to Aishwarya. “I am disappointed (that you didn’t praise my eyes) but I will inform her (Aishwarya),” said Bachchan.
Bachchan had informed that Mansoor Khan’s film Josh had Shah Rukh and Aishwarya as Max and Shirley Dias in lead roles.
Aishwarya is married to Bachchan’s son Abhishek and the couple have one daughter, Aaradhya.
Another bout of laughter
The KBC audience witnessed another bout of laughter little later in the programme when Bachchan welcomed one Kumar Ranjan on the show. The contestant left Bachchan in a state of shock when he revealed that he had won the fastest finger first round by simply guessing the answer.
Very early in the show, he was asked to complete the name of a film starring Ayushmann and Parineeti. The correct option was Meri Pyari Bindu. After the contestant correctly answered the question, Bachchan teased him by asking how he addressed his wife. The contestant started blushing on the question and hesitated to answer the question.
After a lot of persuasions, he finally revealed that he addressed his wife as baua. He also explained that baua in English meant ‘baby’ leaving everyone including the KBC host in splits.
Bachchan did not leave him here. He kept teasing the contestant saying that he should be careful in not confusing a child with his wife.
Earlier this week, Bachchan had told a contestant that he will address his wife Jaya Bachchan as Aji Sunti Ho after a contestant told him that he had saved his wife’s name on the phone with that name.
