BIE appeals students not to commit suicide

The Board of Intermediate on Wednesday appealed to the students not to take hasty decisions like committing suicide if they fail in some subjects.

Reacting to the reports of suicide committed by three intermediate students since the announcement of First Year results on April 21, the Board has advised the students to approach their college Principal or subject lecturers who are already instructed by the Board to guide and counsel the sensitive students to overcome this problem. In addition to that, the BIE has made arrangements for Reverification and Recounting (RV & RC) of the answer scripts in a transparent manner.

The students can obtain the photocopy of the valued answer script by paying Rs 600 per subject / paper in any e-seva centre / A.P online centre. The last date to apply for RV & RC is May 4. Their papers will be re-verified by three subject experts and justice will be done to the students in a judicious manner.

Board is also appealing the parents to treat their ward as a friend, treat his ego smoothly in a sober manner, counsel them and to give moral courage to overcome his problem.

The BIE has already announced the dates for Advanced Supplementary examinations May 2013, which will be held from May 22 to 30th and the last date for payment of examination fee is May 3.

“Please remember, God has given life to perform the ordained duty in this world. Don’t resort to unethical means of sudden demise by means of suicide. Failures are stepping stones of the success. Always be positive,” the Board’s Secretary said in a statement.
