Mumbai, August 04: Veteran ghazal and playback singer Bhupinder Singh, who debuted with the classic ‘Hoke Majboor Mujhe Usne Bulaya Hoga’, and lend his voice to the song along with the legendary Mohammed Rafi, is all set to recreate the golden era magic with his new album ‘Ek Akela Shaher Mein’.
The album, comprising nine of Bhupinder’s most popular numbers will be released by noted lyricist and film director Gulzar at the Nehru Centre on August 11.
Brainchild of his singer wife Mitali, the album has been named ‘Ek Akela…’ as Bhupinder is the only musician in Mumbai who apart from being an great singer is also an ace instrumentalist, having a way, especially with guitar.
The album, containing the nine songs have been re-recorded with live effects, Mitali told today.
Besides, the veteran singer will also narrate his experiences with the music composer, director of each song.
“Bhupiji will share some insights of the atmosphere during the recordings. He belongs to the golden age of Hindi film music,” she said.
The gems that will feature in the album are : ‘Ek Akela Is Shehar Mein’ (Gharonda),’Ho ke Majboor Mujhe’ (Haqeeqat), ‘Dil Dhoondta Hai’ (Mausam), ‘Beete Na Bitayee Raina’ (Parichay), ‘Zindagi Mere Ghar Aana’ (Dooriyan), ‘Kabhi Kisi ko Muqammal jahan nahi milta’ (Ahista Ahista), ‘Do Deewane Shehar mein’ (Gharonda), ‘Naam gun jayega’ (Kinara) and ‘Huzoor Is Kadar’ (Masoom).
