Bhopal: Mother’s are a gift from God to the little children. It is no exception that mothers don’t exhibit their motherly love towards their child but also courageous fight the odds when it comes to protecting her child.
An incident is reported from Madhya Pradesh were a woman had to fiercely fight a leopard in order to save her infant daughter and herself while she was on her way to her parents home.
According to the officials, the 25-year-old woman hailing from Bhaisai in Morena district came across a leopard while she was on her way to her parents home in a nearby village.
She fiercely fought the leopard to save herself and her two-year-old infant, who attacked them, for nearly half-an-hour.
The incident came to light on Sunday when she was admitted in the District headquarters hospital at Morena. The woman had serious injuries.
According to official reports, Asha was attacked on Friday evening by a leopard when she was out walking the forest route to go to her parents house located in a nearby village.
A local forest officer who visited Asha quoted her saying as, “The leopard pounced on me when I was walking in an agriculture land inside the forest. The big cat’s push threw me on the floor. But, I could manage to get up by firmly holding my daughter in my arm and started running.
The wild animal then tried to snatch my daughter. I then caught it in chokehold. The leopard wounded me with its claws in my arms and shoulders, but I did not loosen my grip over its neck”.
The fight went on for about 30 minutes. “Then, some villagers working in the crop fields nearby spotted me and started attacking the leopard, forcing it to run away”.
Asha is reported to be suffering from serious injuries on her arms and shoulder during the fight with the leopard.
Initially, Asha was shifted to a local primary health center and was later shifted to the district headquarters hospital.
Divisional forest officer A.K Ansari said, “We have launched an operation to track down the leopard”.
