Bhopal to hold Skill Summit in September

(Pervez Bari) Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, will host Skill Summit in the month of September. Skill development programmes will be projected in detail at proposed investors’ summit in the state in October this year. Objective of the summit is to make available trained human resources to industries investing in the state as per their requirements.

This information was given by Technical Education Minister Mr. Laxmikant Sharma here on Tuesday at a meeting of Board of Directors of Vocational Education & Training Council chaired by him.

Mr. Sharma said that skill development is the State Government’s top priority. He informed that a survey is being conducted in Madhya Pradesh and other states so that arrangements for training can be imparted in accordance with growth sector. He directed to further strengthen apprenticeship arrangements. The Technical Education Minister also instructed to pay special attention to coaching of I.T. literacy courses.

Mr. Sharma informed that all the engineering and technical colleges will be registered as vocational education training providers. A letter of intent has been issued to fix for training in sectors where training is not available as per market demand.

Additional Chief Secretary Technical Education Mrs. Ajita Bajpai Pandey threw light on vocational training schemes. Members of the council and representatives of BHEL, industries, Woman & Child Development and Rural Development departments, CRISP, CII etc. were present on the occasion.(pervezbari@eth.net)
