Bhopal gas tragedy case convicted

Bhopal, June 07: All the eight accused, including the then Chairman of Union Carbide Keshub Mahindra, in the Bhopal Gas disaster case were convicted by a court here on Monday.

The accused have been convicted by Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohan P. Tiwari under sections 304(A) (causing death by negligence) and 304-II (culpabale homicide not amounting to murder) of Indian Penal Code.

The sentencing in the case is expected to be pronounced later.
