Hyderabad, October 28: In conformation to its tradition of timely deliveries of manufactured products, the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Ramachandrapuram unit in Hyderabad has dispatched a recycle gas compressor train for the CCR unit to Guru Gobind Singh refinery, Bhathinda in Punjab on October 23, 2010.
According to a press release here, the hydrogen recycle gas compressor (model BCL-505) was flagged off by HEML CEO Prabh Das in the presence of BHEL executive director R Krishnan and other senior officials. The company is presently executing an order from HPCL Mittal Energy Limited for supply of three steam turbine driven compressors for their Bhathinda refinery project. Total value of the project is estimated to be Rs 79.9 crores.
The compressor was earlier successfully tested for hydraulic, mechanical and gas leakage as per API standards. In addition, it was tested for its thermodynamic performance, complete unit mechanical run performance and lube oil system. This is a barrel type compressor and is driven by steam turbine (model K-601-2) running at a very high speed of 10395 rpm. The compressor is fitted with state of the art dry gas seal system to prevent gas leakage.
