Bhatkal provided money to families of jailed IM members, says NIA

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) told a court here on Monday that Indian Mujahideen (IM) co-founder Riyaz Bhatkal provided money to the families of the jailed and absconding operatives of his organisation.

The NIA has said that not only did the Pakistan-based Bhatkal send funds for terror acts across the country, he also told his brother and Indian Mujahideen chief Yasin, who is currently incarcerated in Tihar Jail, to establish contacts with Maoists in Nepal for supply of arms.

Riyaz Bhatkal is the alleged mastermind behind the blasts in Hyderabad, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Delhi and investigative agencies suspect that he was instrumental in the 2011 Mumbai blasts. (ANI)
